Generate and copy its generated hash VPN Menu – New VPN Secret

Install App in Debian 8 Stable:

$ sudo apt-get install network-manager network-manager-gnome network-manager-openvpn network-manager-openvpn-gnome network-manager-ssh network-manager-ssh-gnome
$ sudo /etc/init.d/network-manager restart

Menu | System | Preferences | Network Connections | +Add | OpenVPN

Connection name: RISEUP VPN
Gateway: nyc.vpn.riseup.net or seattle.vpn.riseup.net
[Authentication]
Type: Password
User name: Your nickname in Riseup without @
Password: Enter the generated hash VPN Secret field of your account
$ wget https://help.riseup.net/security/network-security/riseup-ca/RiseupCA.pem
CA Certificate: RiseupCA.pem

After you’ve done this, save, and the VPN is ready to use. 5
